CTCI SANCTIONED CAR SHOW EVENTS

July 3-6, 2009 - "T’Birds ‘n Tulsa Celebration 2009", CTCI Region 5 Convention, Tulsa, Oklahoma
The Tulsa Classic Thunderbird Club, CTCI Chapter #8, is pleased to be your host at the new Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the finest anywhere. Located in the center of the United States, serviced by the Tulsa International Airport and at the intersection of Interstate 44 and the famous Route 66, Tulsa is conveniently accessed by any mode of transportation, even by Riverboat up from New Orleans. Made famous as the "Oil Capital of the World" and repeatedly dubbed as "America’s Most Beautiful City", we are again excited to host the CTCI Convention for the third time. Metropolitan Tulsa is located at the foothills of the beautiful Ozark Mountains on the sweeping Arkansas River. Tulsa is rich in the heritage of the American West and American Indian lore, and is proudly surrounded by 7 beautiful lakes with over 3500 miles of shoreline! Within easy driving distance are the Will Rogers Memorial and birthplace, The J.M Davis Gun Museum, the largest collection in the world of antique firearms and the Gilcrease Museum which exhibits more Remington Bronzes than any museum in the country. Tulsa, indeed, has it all for your visit from the nationally acclaimed Tulsa Ballet to the International Finals Rodeo; from Cain’s Ballroom which highlights artists such as Willie Nelson, Carrie Underwood and Garth Brooks to Chapman Music Hall for the Broadway Show Summer Season. So, if you are a "highbrow", "lowbrow" or a "nobrow", Tulsa has something to offer everyone.

We have selected the early July dates to accommodate the New York Times acclaimed outdoor Broadway presentation of the musical Oklahoma! at the outdoor theater Discoveryland on the evening of July 4th. Early arrivals and registration are both encouraged and welcomed on Thursday July 2nd and we have arranged transportation to the elegant Creek Nation Casino that evening for viewing or Las Vegas "gaming". Registration continues on Friday, July 3rd as we get underway with the Hospitality Suite, Vendor and Auction Rooms, the Judges Seminar and Training Session, the "Ask the Experts Seminar" and the Welcome Aboard Party. On Saturday, July 4th the Owners and Judges Meeting commences at 8:00 A.M followed by the Concours d’Elegance at 9:00 A.M. The afternoon features a Fashion Show and Shopping Tour for the ladies at the famed Utica Square Shopping Mall and that evening we head out for Discoveryland for the musical Oklahoma!

On Sunday, July 5th, we will have a driving tour to the Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore, OK. Time is allowed for your visit to The Oklahoma Aquarium, The Air and Space Museum and Planetarium if you missed that opportunity earlier. The Awards Banquet, the crowning event, is that evening and we have huddled with the chefs for your culinary delight. The Departure/Farewell Breakfast is Monday, July 6th, the national holiday. If you would like to remain over to visit some of the other notable sights such as the National Cowboy Hall of Fame or the Oklahoma City Memorial, Woolaroc or the 101 Ranch, or simply "getting your kicks on Route 66", the Mother Road, we will be pleased to help you make those reservations.
