The Santa Clara Valley Thunderbird Club is excited to be hosting the 2013 CTCI Region 3 Convention at the San Jose Airport
Garden Hotel, 1740 N. First Street, San Jose, California. For hotel reservations phone 1-408-793-3300 and ask for the
"Birds by the Bay" rates of $89 per night. We cordially invite all CTCI members to save the date to participate in the
convention while enjoying our mild summr weather and fascinating regional venues. We are offering a fascinating Bus Tour
across the Golden Gate Bridge and to Fisherman's Wharf in picturesque San Francisco, an inspiring tour of NASA Ames facility
in Mt. View and a beautiful Driving Tour through the tree-lined Santa Cruz Mountains to the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk.
For what SCVT believes is a first for a CTCI convention, we are offering the "Underbird Class" competition. If your car does
not qualify as a concours, touring or display car competition, check into entering our SCVT Underbird class. In other words,
the most "needy" Thunderbird will end up with a trophy. This is a people's choice award. The only rule is that it must be
driven in (or maybe a strong push will do it). It cannot be trailered in. This "prestigious" event will be held on Friday.

Sadly, it has been decided that this year's annual "Birds in the Dells" event will be the last and hopefully the largest get together in the past 40 years. The clubs represented are the Classic Thunderbird of Wisconsin, Mini Birds of Minnesota, Southern Wisconsin Classic Thunderbird Club, and this year's host club, the Fox Valley Early Birds.
For this final "Dells" get together, we are inviting all past and present members of those clubs, as well as anyone from the Illinois and Michigan clubs, to join us for a fun weekend in beautiful Door County. You do not have to own a T-Bird to attend, but if you have one, shine it up and bring it along. There will not be car judging or trophies at this last "Dells" event. We want you to just enjoy yourself and share memories with old and new acquaintances.
A fish fry is planned for Friday night with Bingo and a s'mores bonfire afterward. The banquet will be on Saturday night, with a band playing all those oldies but goodies. There will also be raffles and door prizes. Throughout the weekend, Door County will keep you busy with lots of shopping, touring, wine tasting, and golfing...or you can relax and do nothing.
We are going back to the Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor, WI. Rooms have been set aside until July 31, 2013. To sign up for this weekend event, get your registration form by contacting Cindy or Frank at (920) 826-4440 or email them at cnewell@bayland.net If you want to reserve your room early at the Landmark Resort, you can call them direct at 1-800-273-7877. Make sure you tell them you're with the Thunderbird group.
