The Big D Little Birds is joined by the Tulsa Classic Thunderbird Club, who are planning a trip that has been an annual event for their club members for a number of years. Participants have an opportunity to show their cars or simply go to the show to see the hundreds of other cars participating. Ultimately, the cars proceed from the show area for the parade through the curving and sometime steep and narrow streets of the town, which is much to the delight of the townspeople. Many of the participants will throw candy to the children gathered by the roadside. The homes are quaint and integrated into the hills with lush green foilage. Parking in the shop area is available which gives the participants an opportunity for shopping and exercise. There are a number of good restaurants and small shops for meals and snacks. It is a great time for socializing with both friends and other car affectionados. There is also a playhouse where one can attend a Country and Western Show. For more information, we suggest an internet search for Eureka Springs Arkansas Antique Car Festival.

This trip has been another favorite of the Big D Little Bird club as the quaint town of Jefferson offers bed and breakfast or hotel accomodations for relaxing getaways. The town thrived in teh 1800's as a prominant riverboat port. With changes to the river in later years, the port was closed as such. In walking the streets, one can enjoy the many buildings reflecting the period architecture from it's thriving past. Sponsored by the Marion County in cooperation with the local restaurant owners, one can literally eat their way from one end to the other of the town. There is a wide variety of culinary delicacies, that for a small fee, are available for sampling. There is BBQ, Italian, German, Mexican and homestyle cooking to taste. For more information, we suggest an internet search for Marion County Texas or A Taste of Jefferson, TX.
